It is preferable to have an international driver's license (IDP) with the appropriate category on hand. Category A for motorbikes, Category A1 for bikes up to 175 cubes. You can ride a small-size bike if there is a category A.
In Vietnam, you can also legalize your driver's license. The fee is 135,000 VND, and you must submit an application and a valid driver's license.
For a duration of three months, you must hold a valid Vietnamese VISA.
You may accomplish this at the city transportation department, which is located at 239 Trần Hưng Đạo, Phú Thuỷ, Thành phố Phan Thiết, Bình Thuận.
You will require the following:
a. an original passport with a Vietnamese visa
b. A photocopy of your driver's license
c. A notarized copy of a passport with a photo and a visa page, both of which must be valid for at least three months.
d. A notarized copy of your current driver's license
e. three 4x6 cm photos
f. a completed application form (given by the department)
After completing the aforementioned requirements, you will be issued a driver's license within 5-7 days.
There are two choices:
1. Obtain a temporary driver's license.
2. Convert your current driver's license to a Vietnamese license.
